Terms of Service

Last updated: 16 April 2026

These terms govern your use of services provided by Keibase, a one-person web studio operated by Gil Anthuenis in Belgium. By engaging us for services or using this website, you agree to these terms.

Business details. Gil Anthuenis, trading as Keibase. Tulpenlaan 15, 9160 Lokeren, Belgium. KBO/BCE: 1036650876 · VAT: BE1036650876.

1. Services

Keibase provides web design, development, hosting, and ongoing support. Specific deliverables, timelines and scope are agreed in writing for each engagement before work begins.

2. Quotes, pricing and billing

  • Every project is quoted upfront. You approve the estimate before work starts.
  • Work is billed on actual hours at rates discussed privately with each client, unless a fixed-scope project price is agreed in writing.
  • Hosting and support are billed monthly in advance per the agreed tier.
  • Invoices are payable within 14 days of issue unless otherwise agreed. Late payment may trigger the legal default-interest rate under Belgian law.
  • Keibase is currently exempt from VAT under art. 56bis WBTW (small-business exemption). Invoices state "Vrijgesteld van BTW – artikel 56bis WBTW". If/when the €25k/year threshold is crossed, VAT will be added per the normal Belgian regime.

3. Response time

Keibase is operated as a side-business (bijberoep). Response time is 1–2 business days. Dedicated response SLAs are available on the Standard and Advanced support tiers.

4. Intellectual property

  • On full payment, you receive full ownership of the website content, design files, and custom code produced for you.
  • Third-party libraries, frameworks and design tools remain under their respective licences.
  • Keibase retains the right to showcase non-confidential work in its portfolio and case studies unless otherwise agreed.

5. Hosting and uptime

Hosting is provided on infrastructure rented from Hetzner Online GmbH (Nuremberg, Germany). We make reasonable efforts to maintain uptime but do not guarantee availability. Scheduled maintenance may cause brief downtime. No SLA credits apply unless explicitly agreed per-engagement.

6. Liability

Keibase's total liability in any matter is limited to the amount paid for the specific service giving rise to the claim in the preceding 12 months. We are not liable for indirect, consequential or incidental damages including lost profits, data or business.

7. Termination

Either party may terminate an ongoing engagement with 30 days' notice. Fixed-scope projects may be cancelled by you; work done up to the cancellation date is billable. Unpaid invoices remain due.

8. Governing law

These terms are governed by Belgian law. Any dispute will be submitted to the competent courts of Belgium.
